Have you ever wondered what earthen ingredients our ancestors used for cleansing purposes???  Some believe our ancestors didn't bathe- We believe they did!  However, their ingredients didn't resemble our modern, bottled, chemical-laden products- they used what the earth gave them. And now- so can you!  Dirt.  Sea Kelp. Honey. Herbs.

***Primal Life Organics highly recommends purchasing the squirt bottle with first purchase of Dirty Poo for ease of use.***

Filled with vitamins, minerals and negative electrically charged ions, PRIMAL DIRT (clay) is the perfect Poo.

Available in both a 4oz and 8oz size.

Now Available in a 12 oz refill packaged in a 100% biodegradable plastic bag.

Used alone or mixed with other ingredients, clay can purify, cleanse, tone, heal, soothe and nourish skin and hair. Clay detoxifies, balances, alkalizes and stimulates circulation. Clay contains a unique strong negative ionic charge which acts as a “magnet” that readily attracts any substance with a positive ionic charge. Substances that carry a positive ionic charge include toxins, bacteria, viruses, parasites and other impurities. Clay attracts these impurities, draws them out of the hair and scalp and carries them away with the rinse. The scalp is nourished and cleansed but natural oils remain intact. A safe alternative to commercial shampoo, and Dirty Poo is free from all parabens, mineral oils, silicones, fragrance.

{Primal Dirt Blend}

Rhassoul, Bentonite, Fuller's Earth and Red Kaolin Clays:

1. Detoxifies

2. Balances

3. Alkalizes

4. Stimulates circulation

Never underestimate what clay can do in supporting health and well being.

"I tried  a bunch of different things with my hair – including the no poo method, along with a couple of other things. To say my hair didn’t like it would be an understatement. Within a few hours of washing my hair with the no poo method my hair would be limp, stuck to my scalp and greasy, only to be brittle and dry the next day – it was a strange combination. For months I told my self “its just the adjustment period, it will get better”, but it didn’t – it only got worse. After about 6 months of wearing a hat nearly every day and trying to convince myself that my hair didn’t look that bad – I broke down and ordered the Dirty Poo Primal Hair Wash, along with Dirty Mouth ToothpowderBoost Gum Serum and the Carrot Seed Cleanser. Let me tell you – the Dirty Poo was a game changer. For the first time in months I didn’t feel embarrassed to go out in public because of the way my hair looked, and the need to was it became less frequent, and my hair would even start to look better a few days after washing it. If that wasn’t enough, my hair began to do what I want when I styled it and for the first time in my life my naturally limp and fine hair began to build up some body! I was ecstatic, and will honestly never go back if I can help it. I have included a picture of myself here – this was taken 6 days after washing my hair with Dirty Poo and its still looking good, and my teeth are looking whiter and healthier than ever."

There are no chemicals in Dirty Poo- just dirt, herbs, honey and sea kelp. It should not affect colored hair- it has not on any testers.

Norwegian Sea Kelp (organic): brown seaweed found along the Atlantic coast of Norway. Sea kelp is abundant in 18 vital minerals, such as potassium, calcium, zinc and manganese and iodine and contains 14 essential vitamins, such as niacin, vitamin K and folate. Kelp proteins are comparable in quality to animal proteins. Kelp contains sodium alginate (algin), an element that helps remove radioactive particles and heavy metals from the body.

  • Kelp (laminaria), the most prolific sea plant on America's shores, contains algin, carrageenan, iodine, potassium, bromine, mucopolysaccharides, mannitol, alginic acid, kainic acid, laminine, histamine, zeaxanthin, protein, vitamins A, B, E, D, K, C, and is rich in minerals.

Aloe Vera (organic) has many beneficial properties for the hair which include: anti-inflammatory properties for the scalp, helps generate hair growth, restores pH levels, promotes scalp healing, improves detangling, provides moisture and conditioning, decreases frizz, enhances cellular regeneration and remediates dandruff.

  • Aloe Vera contains a small amount of the protein lectin, as well as various amino acids. When absorbed by the cortex of the hair, and can add structural integrity to the hair.
  • Key ingredients in Aloe Vera include:  polysaccharides, fatty acids, vitamins A, B and C, folic acid, beta-carotene, choline, proteins, minerals (chromium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, copper, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, enzymes and amino acids.

Honey (organic) acts as a humectant and prevents moisture loss. The high sugar content helps to retain water, maintain moisture content of the hair and keep the hair cuticle soft. Honey also has antibacterial properties that helps to maintain a healthy scalp, thereby reducing the incidence of flaking (dandruff). Honey is also loaded with anti-oxidants which are important to prevent free-radical damage, improve nutrient supply, scalp functioning and healing as well as regeneration of tissue.

Lavender (organic)- antibacterial, soothing properties for the skin and mind.

Rosemary (organic): According to Organic Facts, rosemary stimulates hair follicles, causing hair to grow long and strong. Rosemary also helps prevent premature hair loss and stops hair from falling out during brushing, shampooing or just daily living. It also helps remedy dry, flaky scalp conditions and promotes pigmentation in the hair (prevents premature gray hair and can help reverse grey hair). Rosemary also increases circulation to the scalp, which results in renewed cellular health and an increase in delivery of nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles.

Baking Soda (aluminum free) acts as a very mild cleanser and agitator for dirt removal.

Directions: Mix 2-3 Tbsp. of Dirty Poo in 8 oz water in a squirt bottle. Shake into muddy water. Wet hair, squirt 1-2 oz. directly onto hair and scalp. Massage into hair and scalp. Allow to sit for 1-2 minutes. Wet and massage again. Rinse till water is clear. Style as usual.

Make It Your Own!

Sometimes, one size fits all is not the best option. The ingredients Primal Life Organics uses for Dirty Poo are cleansing and nutrient dense for the hair and scalp.  However, individual needs must be considered!  There WILL be an adjustment period- period!  Very few will be able to use Dirty Poo initially "as is"- especially those that currently use commercial, chemical laden shampoo.  We encourage you to have some fun, experiment, and mix it up!!  Remember, what works this week may not work next week. Also remember- diet, weather, mineral content of water as well as stress- all play a role in hair condition! As well, keep in mind that the adjustment period could last as long as 6-8 weeks. Take it slow if you are making the switch from commercial shampoo.  Those already doing the No Poo method will adjust very quickly. Please follow these suggestions- and refer back to them often thru the adjustment period.

  • If switching from commercial shampoo: add 1-2 TBS of commercial shampoo to the wet mix BOTTLE. With each new bottle made, decrease the amount of commercial shampoo to zero.
  • Once to zero (of added commercial shampoo), if hair looks or feels dirty or oily, add 1-2 TBS baking soda to the wet mix BOTTLE. Wean to the amount that is correct for you. This may mean you always need to add a little baking soda- or, you may wean to zero.
  • Hair feels staticky:  do a vinegar rinse or add 2 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar directly to the mix.
  • Hair feels dry and/or staticky: rinse with Aloe juice (just a small amount needed). Can apply aloe gel or aloe juice to scalp, hair and/or ends as leave in. Use small amount with fingertips and massage in.
  • Desire a scent? Add 20-25 drops of your organic essential oil of choice. Suggestions: lavender, chamomile, lemon or rosemary.
  • For added moisture: either add 2 TBS full fat coconut milk to the wet mix BOTTLE or do a coconut milk rinse.
  • Want to add some depth of color to dark hair? Add 1 TBS ground coffee or dark tea to mix bottle. Wash as directed.
  • Want natural lightening? Add 1 TBS lemon juice to the mix bottle. Wash as directed.

Don't be afraid to experiment and MAKE IT YOUR OWN!  If you find an ingredient that is not mentioned-.please let us know so we can share with others!

Have fun playing with dirt!!

Are you on the fence about Dirty Poo?? Washing your hair with dirt sounds a little backwards right??? Do you have fine, limp, oily, dull hair that does not respond to volume promising shampoos?? Have you tried the No Poo method and it just was not for you?? You may want to read this:

Hi Trina!

About a month ago, I emailed you to ask for some product advice. I ended up ordering and trying the Carrot Seed facial package, the Primal Pit Stick, Dirty Mouth Toothpowder and the Dirty Poo. My biggest concerns were about the Dirty Poo. I have thin, fine hair that tends to get pretty oily. I've tried No Poo before with only baking soda & ACV and it was not an experiment that went well. The baking soda was too abrasive and broke a lot of my hair. It was kind of a disaster actually and I'm still trying to grow my hair out in certain places. I had to give up and go back to regular shampoo. I tried to keep it as clean as possible with an all organic, botanical based shampoo, but even the "volume" formula for my fine, limp hair just weighted it down. I really did feel at my wits end about my hair and threatened on several occasions to simply shave it all off.

I've been using Dirty Poo for a little over a month now and my relationship with my hair has totally changed! I wash it twice a week and even in between washings, even with working out, it still looks clean and fresh. I don't even have to use dry shampoo in between washings like I always did with No Poo and with traditional shampoo! Best of all my limp locks seem to be history! My hair feels clean and fresh and still has some body and bounce to it! A day or two before washing, if it gets a little limp, I just pin it back in a French twist and it still looks great. I've already ordered an 8 oz container of Dirty Poo because this will be my hair care of choice for quite a time to come! I'm also a big fan of the Dirty Toothpowder, which leaves my teeth bright and white and somehow cleaner then regular toothpaste. Of course, not eating sugar & grains helps a lot in this regard as well! And my facial skin in clearer and more vibrant then its ever been with the Carrot Seed range of products. Overall, I'm really impressed with your skin food and think its makes a wonderful counterpoint to a Paleo diet and lifestyle regime. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!
