A Healthy Mouth For A Healthy Smile

Your mouth is the gateway to your body. And if you're not careful, the toothpaste and mouthwash you use may be setting you up for a host of health problems.
Recently, Trina had a chance to visit with Rachel Varga, BScN, RN, CANS on The Rachel Varga Podcast.
Rachel has been a Double Board Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist since 2011 with over 20,000 procedures performed, host of a top 20 podcast The Rachel Varga Podcast, an international clinical trainer for other Physicians and Nurses, celebrity skin expert featured by Dave Asprey, JJ Virgin and more! Rachel is an international speaker and a 5 time academically published award-winning author in the field of regenerative and aesthetic nursing as well as an executive board member and peer reviewer for USA based Plastic and Aesthetic Nursing Journal, and a regular contributor to the UK based Journal of Aesthetic Nursing.
In this episode, Trina talks about how, why, and what to do about your oral health so you can not only have whiter and stronger teeth, but a better immune system, better skin, and less of a chance for internal disease.
As a registered nurse and creator and CEO of Primal Life Organics, Trina focuses on oral health as the gateway to internal health and believes that the toxic products we use in our mouths and on our skin create disease and health issues instead of helping them.
“The reason that we end up with cavities is because of the environment that our teeth are in,” Trina says. “Our teeth are in an acidic environment the majority of the time. Most of the foods that we’re eating are acidic. The dental products that were being sold on the market are creating more acids in your mouth. The more acid you have in your mouth, the more minerals your teeth lose, the more bad bacteria you grow, and the more chance of having what I call leaky gum syndrome or gingivitis. Once you go down that path, you end up with all sorts of health issues that are inflammatory related, including leaky gut syndrome and all of that digestive issues that you might suffer from.”
Tune in for some great tips on how to take care of your oral health, like switching from commercial toothpaste to a mineral-based toothpowder, using light instead of peroxide to whiten your teeth, and how to make the bacteria in your mouth less acidic.
