"You are not a barbie doll. Stop using PLASTIC skincare or your face will become 'plastic'. Seriously." Trina Felber
You take the time to eat healthy, workout, and you do your research to avoid toxins and chemicals in your skincare. You consider yourself “health-conscious” because you “woke up” to the lies of Big Cosmo... but what if I told you Big Cosmo might have you duped yet again!
It’s an infuriating thought – particularly if you’ve gone to the trouble of sourcing natural skincare products free from a range of toxins that can be harmful to your health.
I am here to tell you that your “natural” skincare might be polluted with BPA, phthalates, and more..
While there is no hard and fast data about the impact of a single application of the product from a plastic bottle, it’s important to think about the cumulative effect of continued exposure to chemicals leached into your skincare products, when applied day after day.
This is especially true for face moisturizers, face serums, body moisturizers, and sunscreens because these products are put on your skin and absorb into your body throughout the day.
For example, plastic bottles made from PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) can leach phthalates into the product they contain when the plastic is heated, exposed to sun, or reused.
Plastic containers leach phthalates into your products... we know that. It has been proven. How much you absorb and the devasting and damaging effects they have on your health are unknown, yet it is 100% preventable. This is why you must pay attention to what your skincare is contained in.
Phthalates are known hormone disruptors and have been linked to reproductive issues, liver damage, and are suspected of being toxic to the fetus in pregnancy.
So, what’s the moral of this
PACKAGING MATTERS story?
Be informed about your skincare purchase and the potential impact of its packaging on your health.
If you’re concerned about your product’s container leaching toxins into the product, it’s best to purchase a natural skincare alternative that uses containers other than plastic.
At Primal Life Organics, we did the homework, so you see and feel the results. We use safe, natural, and non-temperature dependent packaging for all of our products that contain oils, essential oils, and liquids.
Our health-conscious packaging includes glass
bottles and jars, cardboard, and tin.
Glass does not contract or expand during temperature changes and does not contain toxic ingredients. We use amber glass to protect our products from light to preserve the nutrients in the oils and essential oils. All of our face cleansers, serums, moisturizers, and treatments are housed in beautiful amber glass...so you get to feel and see the difference!
Cardboard containers are not affected by extreme heat or cold and our natural deodorant and Sun Protector stay naturally healthy and nutrient-rich no matter how far they travel or how long they are in the sun!
Tin containers are the perfect home for body moisturizers (we call ours“butter”), hand balms, bug spray, hand protectors, and more. Not only does tin protect the delicate nutrients in the products, it also looks amazing, sleek, and stylish! We love keeping you healthy and stylish!
Do your body a favor and ditch plastic containers. Just like the damage fragrance does to your body and skin, the toxins in plastic do the same. You won’t see the damage for a while...but it is happening. With so many better options for the environment and your body, plastic should be a thing of the past.
After all, you are not a barbie doll.
You are a masterpiece.
Your skin is worth millions.
At Primal Life Organics, we create skincare that treats your skin like the masterpiece it is, and it starts with our packaging. We create natural products for every season. Join our Seasonal Clean Beauty Box and get the right skincare for every season your skin faces!
