Let me ask you a question...
What was the scariest thing to ever happen to you?
Was it childbirth?
Speaking in front of a large group?
Going on a theme park ride?
For me, it was none of those things (although most of them can be pretty darn scary)...
Nope, for me, one thing and one thing alone stands out from the crowd:
VISITING THE DENTIST!
It's true -- I've always hated going to the dentist. Everything about it just made me cringe.
The God-awful antiseptic smell... crappy Muzak throughout the office... centuries-old magazines in the waiting room... the list goes on and on.
And all that before you even got your mouth open!
So when I went for my first teeth whitening session a while back, needless to say, I was less than excited. But my umpteen-cup-a-day coffee habit had steadily turned my pearly whites into a dull gray. I had to do something.
A few minutes later, there I was, laying back in that goofy little recliner, a 100,000 watt light glaring just inches from my nose, eyes wide and hands shaking, as the dentist slid in the thingy packed with the bleach whitening peroxide solution.
HOOOOOLY CRAP! I thought I was going to go through the ceiling. The pain was so severe, like nothing else I had ever felt.
"OWWWW, that hurts!" I cried out.
"Um, yeah," the dentist mumbled. "The peroxide is pretty harsh on your teeth and gums. But you'll probably get used to it after the 4th or 5th session."
FOURTH OR FIFTH SESSION????
I was mortified at what he was telling me. But it didn't stop there...
"Oh, and your teeth will probably experience some greater sensitivity. Which may return to normal -- or it may not."
So let me get this straight...
1. I get to voluntarily come to a place I absolutely detest to be tortured viciously by the dentist from Little Shop of Horrors...
2. AND my teeth will most likely be permanently damaged by the procedure?
Sign me up -- NOT!
Needless to say, I never went back. I simply couldn't justify the agony -- not to mention the expense (I don't even want to tell you how much this ordeal cost).
So... I decided to try it at home. I bought a whitening kit at the store, put the bleaching agent in the plastic tray, and slid the tray into my mouth.
It wasn't so bad at first... just messy. But after I took the tray out and rinsed the goop off, I felt stabbing pains in my teeth when I inhaled.
Drinking water and coffee was a no-go. The change in temperature was excruciating.
The at-home bleaching kit was cheaper and easier than going to the dentist, but the pain was the exact same.
And I STILL wanted whiter teeth!
That's when I discovered two incredible ways to naturally whiten your teeth at home.
I even made a special video detailing each one. Just click and watch below:
